WHEELING, W.Va. – Patients will now receive their treatment in a newly renovated center that offers individualized seating at the Cancer Center at Ohio Valley Medical Center.

The upgrades to the center provide patients with individualized seating areas with private televisions, reclining chairs and light refreshments.

“These additions to the center help us reach our goal of providing compassionate, holistic care to our patients, said Bernie Albertini, Administrative Director of Oncology Services at OVMC. “Our staff are more than caregivers. They are team members collaborating for optimum patient outcomes. They are case managers who coordinate treatment across the continuum of care, and our staff serves as teachers who enlighten and educate patients while they receive care at our center.”

An open house for the community will be Friday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Dr. Nadeem Ikhlaque’s office, suite 401, at the Cancer Center where people can receive free skin cancer screening and light refreshments.

The Outpatient Chemotherapy Center at OVMC is staffed with a variety of certified medical professionals, including a board certified oncologist/hematologist, a certified oncology nurse practioner, experienced registered nurses, and LPN and support staff.

“These professionals are strong team members who are respected, recognized, and rewarded for their dedication and contributions to our patients,” said Albertini.

The Cancer Center at OVMC provides chemotherapy and bio therapy infusions, injections, lab result monitoring, care for venous access devices, complimentary cancer genetic testing and coordinate support services.
